Megan's Big Day

Look closely. What do you see?

That's right. Megan got her ears pierced today. I have to say she did really well. Definitely better than when she got her shots. She cried, but it wasn't nearly as bad and didn't last nearly as long.

Here she was just before getting them pierced.  Oh yeah, did I mention she's teething and actually taking a pacifier now?  Only took four months to get her to keep one in her mouth for any length of time.  Must feel good on her sore gums.

On the count of 3.  1....2....3!

All done!

It's only been a few hours, but so far they don't seem to be bothering her.  She hasn't been tugging at them or anything.  Now mom & dad are responsible for cleaning and twisting the earrings three times a day for 8 weeks.

Just thought I'd help you out - most of your photos are VERY dark (underexposed). Try opening up your lens to a larger aperture (smaller number like f/2.0) and upping your ISO. Using an external flash and bouncing it off of your ceiling or behind you (either on a white wall or mirror) will be extremely helpful too.

I know I like to have the best photos for my son, so here's some advice from a fellow mommy and photographer.

I think you will be happy about your decision to pierce her ears so young. We got my daughters ears done when she was 3 months old (state laws). She is 5 now, and does not play with them one bit. I am glad we don't have to go through the pre-teen begging and possible infections from not leaving them alone.

Not sure if anyone said anything, but we were told to keep her in gold for as long as possible, it would lesson the chance of medal allergies.

BTW, I came through way of the "Next Blog" feature. She is absolutely adorable.

You call yourself a good photographer just because you have some nice glass?

Your photos suck and that's putting it mildly.
